Reflections Contest
This year the theme of the Reflections Contest is “I Matter Because…” Original works based on this theme may include dance, photography, film, literature, music and visual arts. Entries and forms must be turned in to the BVVA Office by October 8, 2020. More more information, including the contest rules, is available at PTA Reflections Contest.
District Survey
PYLUSD has released a district-wide survey to gather information on family’s decisions about distance learning or returning to a traditional campus in a hybrid model. Please choose the option below if you would like to stay at BVVA. This includes students who are enrolled in concurrent courses at their school of residence (or school of attendance if you have a choice transfer).
- BUENA VISTA VIRTUAL ACADEMY (100% Online School): My student will remain enrolled at Buena Vista Virtual Academy or I will be contacting Buena Vista Virtual Academy to enroll.

New Staff
This week Mrs. Julia Skates is joining us in our Grade 3 Team! Mrs. Skates and Mrs. Chang will work together to plan and deliver Grade 3 lessons. Likewise, Mrs. Jones is joining us in Kindergarten to work with Mrs. Moss. Please join us in welcoming them to our BVVA Team!
Pictures and Make-Up Day
If you ordered pictures, they are available for pick up in our BVVA office. For those of you who could not make it to the September picture days, there will be a make-up day on October 27, 2020. Pictures are optional, so do not worry if you are not comfortable with coming into the campus. We are hoping to find a yearbook vendor who can include uploaded photos of our students.
Elementary Pick up Days (Grades K-6)
Self-serve pick up for the following grade levels will be on these dates. We will put the items out for curbside pick up. Pick up is from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. If you cannot make this time, please come into the office.
REMINDERS
Paper.co (Grades 6-12)
Middle and High School students have an opportunity to take advantage of Paper.co. This service allows PYLUSD secondary school students to access trained qualified tutors in a chat-style model. Students can access Paper.co via clever or can download the Paper.co app.
MS Lunch (Grades 7-8)
Our fantastic BVVA Classroom Aide, Mr. Austin Weber is hosting Middle School Lunch Bunch groups. He is hosting virtual Games, Music, and Videos Mondays through Thursdays via Zoom.
