BVVA Update: February 25, 2021

February 25, 2021

Good Afternoon BVVA Wolf Pack,

Spring is in the air and it’s the time of year that traditional schools start pushing out information about registration at their schools. Although schools try to target their communications to students within their area of residence, BVVA serves schools throughout the district, so you may receive information that is for a school outside your area of residence.  Please disregard any information that is not relevant to your student. Below you can find contact information for school counselors. The schools’ websites also feature a great deal of information, and I would recommend that you visit them when you have time.

Middle School Registration Information for PYLUSD traditional schools

High School Registration Information for PYLUSD traditional schools

While we hope that many of you decide to stay with us at BVVA next year, we also understand the importance of knowing about your options. If you have any questions about the BVVA Middle or High School programs, please feel free to contact our Secondary Secretary Katia Murillo at [email protected] or our school Counselor Sarah Miller at [email protected]. Students who are continuing at BVVA next year do not need to change their registration.  We will be sending out a parent form in March to gather information about your plans for next year.  We understand that there are a lot of unknowns right now and many of you are not ready to make a firm decision yet, but we hope that by the time we send out the survey you might have some idea as to where you would like your students to attend next school year. We will use the information for 2021-22 staffing and planning purposes.

Best Regards,

Carrie Bisgard

Director, BVVA

Yearbook Information

Ongoing

BVVA will be producing a yearbook this year. It will be soft-sided and will cost approximately $12.00 per book.  Students and parents are able to purchase these books online directly through the yearbook company, Studio One HERE. Yearbooks will be delivered to BVVA and will be available for pick up the last week of school.

Portraits: All school photos taken this fall will be featured in the yearbook, unless families request to opt-out. If your student did not have pictures taken with Lifetouch at BVVA this fall, please submit a digital photo of your student (head and shoulders) to [email protected] by April 9, 2021. Our yearbook company recommends that these be 8X10 portraits but they can work with other sizes. Please label the email and file with the student’s name and grade.

Activity Photos: Please submit any photos of your students completing activities or participating in BVVA events. The yearbook company can work with any size for the photos.  Please label the email/file with the student’s name, grade, and the activity.  For example, Leia Bisgard, Grade 10, Working on a World History project, or Jake Bisgard, Grade 8, Zooming on crazy hair day.  These photos can also be emailed to [email protected]

Paper.co

Grades 6-12

Middle and High School students have an opportunity to take advantage of Paper.co. This service allows PYLUSD secondary school students to access trained qualified tutors in a chat-style model. Students can access Paper.co via clever or can download the Paper.co app. Students may also submit essays for review and feedback. This service has a 24-hour turnaround time.
