BVVA Update: April 6, 2021

April 6, 2021

Good Afternoon BVVA Wolf Pack,

Welcome back from Spring Break!  We hope you had a wonderful break with a chance to relax and rejuvenate. We have a lot going on at BVVA this month, as you will see in the Upcoming Events chart below.  In particular, our PTSA has been very busy so, once again, we send out a big Thank You to our BVVA PTSA Executive Board!

You will notice our teachers announcing on-campus learning opportunities within the next few weeks. We will be starting slowly with just a few events this spring. Teachers are focusing on outdoor activities, but we do have a large room (Room A) here on campus to utilize in case of inclement weather. These activities will be about one hour long and attendance is entirely optional. We will of course observe all current physical distancing and safety protocols. In the fall, we are hoping to have weekly on-campus learning opportunities. We do not plan to zoom during these activities, as many of them will rely on things like sphero robots or other materials that we only have access to here on site. Initial dates are in the chart below, but more information will be forthcoming from teachers.

Traditional schools in PYLUSD announced last week that they will be extending in-person hours as of April 19 and through the end of the school year.  Elementary students wishing to transfer back as of April 19 should email our Elementary Secretary Tina at [email protected].  Tina will be happy to walk you through the next steps to ensure your student can start at their school of attendance on April 19, 2021.  Transitioning in the middle of the semester is much more difficult for secondary students due to classes, schedules, and credits.  We recommend that middle and high school students plan to return to traditional schools in the Fall of 2021. If you have a middle or high school student and have questions about this, please contact Katia Murillo at [email protected]

Best Regards,

Carrie Bisgard

Director, BVVA

If your student did not have pictures taken with Lifetouch at BVVA this fall, please submit a digital photo of your student (head and shoulders) to [email protected] by April 9, 2021.
