Good Afternoon BVVA Families,

We hope this message finds you healthy and well-rested after the Thanksgiving Holiday break! BVVA teachers and staff are certainly excited to be back and see our students again. We have a few things planned for the upcoming weeks. Our Fall-Fest was such a big hit, that we are planning a Winter-Fest celebration for December 18. While details will follow, we hope that our K-6 families will save the date to stop by for a photo opportunity. We also wanted to let you know that we have put plans for regularly scheduled on-campus participation opportunities for students on hold due to concerns that many families have expressed about the current conditions, including health restrictions.

Upcoming Events and Reminders

PTSA	December 1-18	BVVA Parents, Teachers and Students are invited to join the new BVVA PTSA. More information is available HERE.
Picture Day Make-Ups	December 1 8:00am-12:00pm	Picture make-up day is tomorrow, December 1, 2020. Lifetouch will be in Room A from 8:00am-12:00pm. No appointment is needed. Make Up Day Lifetouch Form
Cogat Testing 3rd and 4th Grades	4th Grade: December 3 & 4th, 2020 3rd Grade: December 8 and 11th	The Cogat test is used by the PYLUSD to assist in identification of students eligible for GATE programs. The test is given to third and fourth grade students throughout PYLUSD. Unlike most of what we do at BVVA, this test must be given in person. Families will have the option to test here at BVVA on December 3rd/4th and 8th/11th or at our PYLUSD District Board Room on select Saturdays. Families may also opt their student out of the Cogat test. More information and a letter from the PYLUSD GATE Coordinator about this test will be coming to third and fourth grade parents soon. Mascot Contest	December 1 Entries Due	Help us design a school mascot for Buena Vista Virtual Academy! Start brainstorming and creating a logo/mascot for BVVA. Entries are due by December 1st. Design on paper or the computer. If chosen, your design will be given to a graphic designer. Include at least 3 reasons why your design represents Buena Vista Include your name, grade, teacher Drop off in office or email to [email protected]
Winter-Fest	December 18, 2020	BVVA Staff, Room Moms and PTA parents are working on a little drive-up celebration for students on December 18. More details to follow!
Returning High School Novels	On-Going	Many of our 9-12 grade students have completed their first semester language arts classes. Any novels that belong to the school can be returned to the BVVA office during regular business hours.

Reminder: Elementary Pick up Days (Grades K-6)

Self-serve pick up for the following grade levels will be on these dates. We will put the items out for curbside pick up. Items are available for pick up outside from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. If you cannot make this time, the materials will be available just inside the main entrance to the building marked Professional Development Academy.
