BVVA Update: February 4, 2021

February 4, 2021

Good Afternoon BVVA Families,

We are very excited to announce that we have artwork for our mascot! As you may remember, we had a mascot contest for students and the wolf was selected as our mascot.  We then took the student input to a local artist to design a professional mascot and put it in a form we could utilize. We actually have two versions of wolves approved for our use.  The wolf in a circle will be our “official” mascot art and you will be seeing it on our communications, website, and social media accounts.  We believe it is beautiful and represents our student’s strength and independent nature.

In addition, you may see the guy to the right and his laptop around our virtual campus, especially on our elementary pages and communications. We hope you are as excited as we are about the new BVVA Wolves!

Best Regards,

Carrie Bisgard

Director, BVVA

Yearbook Information

Ongoing

BVVA will be producing a yearbook this year. It will be soft sided and will cost approximately $12.00 per book.  Students and parents will be able to purchase these books online directly through the yearbook company, Studio One. More information from Studio on ordering will be forthcoming.  In the meantime, please help us collect photos!

Portraits: All school photos taken this fall will be featured in the yearbook unless families request to opt-out. If your student did not have pictures taken with Lifetouch at BVVA this fall, please submit a digital photo of your student (head and shoulders) to [email protected] by April 9, 2021. Our yearbook company recommends that these be 8X10 portraits but they can work with other sizes. Please label the email and file with the student’s name and grade.

Activity Photos: Please submit any photos of your students completing activities or participating in BVVA events. The yearbook company can work with any size for the photos.  Please label the email/file with the student’s name, grade, and the activity.  For example, Leia Bisgard, Grade 10, Working on a World History project, or Jake Bisgard, Grade 8, Zooming on crazy hair day.

Reminders:  The items below are coming up shortly and have been mentioned in previous communication.

Valentine’s Drive-Up Event

February 12, 2021

This event will feature a photo opportunity with teachers, contact-free valentine exchange, and a “Share the Love” donation box for PYLUSD homeless families. Our homeless program is asking for new items including socks, blankets, and school supplies for those in need.

In order to allow us time to sort all of the valentines, we ask that you drop off the cards your student would like distributed to classmates during the materials pick up tomorrow (1/29/20)

More information is available on our website HERE.
